Catch me if you can, I'm the gingerbread man!

Updated: Sep 18, 2023

Gingerbread men and the building of gingerbread houses is a tradition loved by many around Christmas, but why?

Some people believe the fairytale Hansel and Gretel was based on this tradition while other historians believe creating gingerbread houses was influenced by the story.

Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are credited with popularising the Christmas Tree and incorporating gingerbread into Christmas through gifts they gave.

Here are a few activities for you to try over the Christmas holidays (oh and don't forget to enter the competitions below!)

Gingerbread recipe - FOOD FUN

These Easy Gingerbread biscuits are the go-to winter holiday recipe. They are super simple to make and are delicious for the whole family to share. (They also happen to be free from eggs and nuts, so more of you can enjoy them!)

Check out the recipe, here!

Gingerbread House - CRAFT

We LOVE this craft, all you need to do is download the template, print it off and follow the instructions to create your very own gingerbread house.

You'll need scissors, glue and colouring pens/ pencils to be able to complete the activity.

We recommend using tape if you don't have any glue.
